Lifeboat Ethics- Whitney

What would you do? Why?
I think that I would take all ten people that we could fit on the boat because there will most likely be people who die on the way to safety, leaving more room for people and I would feel horrible not having had the capacity's TOP amount of people to begin with from the start. I want to save as many people as possible without killing off the entire population by trying to over-do the capacity and sinking the entireeee group in the boat. The ten people that I would choose would be any children I could see and if there are not 10 children, I would choose strictly based on sympathy and who I felt looked like they were healthy enough to be a productive member on the boat.

What would you say to the people who you did not choose?
I honestly feel that I would say nothing to the people who I did not choose to come onto the boat besides "I'm sorry" only once. I wouldn't be able to see their faces and reactions to not being chosen by me. :(
