I would pick based on looks, strength, and intelligence, to assure the population would be the best of the best. I would also pick based on age, the older have already experienced life, whereas young kids shouldn't die so soon. I would tell the rest of the people in the water I am sorry but this its the facts of life at this point in time, if I could save everyone of them, I would.
